Florida Man Charged for ‘Throwing Alligator’ in Fast Food Restaurant

A man in Florida is presently facing charges of aggravated assault for throwing an alligator in a fast food restaurant according to reports.

Joshua James, 23, has been accused of tossing an alligator in a drive-thru window of a Wendy's restaurant, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report.

FWC reportedly used a credit card receipt for the soda that James had purchased while committing the felony.

He wanted to play a practical joke on one of his friends who worked at the place, according to his mother.

"It was just a stupid prank that he did that's now turning into this.  He's a prankster.  He does stuff like this because he thinks it's funny," said mother Linda James.

The animal was captured and released back into a nearby canal.

Although the incident happened back in October, yet the suspect was finally taken into custody recently by US Marshals, according to WPTV.

James will be facing charges of aggravated assaults as well as unlawful possession and transportation of wildlife.

James originally found the alligator from Jupiter and lured it into the back of his truck. Consequently, he went to the restaurant at Royal Palm Beach and placed an order through the drive through window, received a drink and threw the three-foot long animal through the window, according to BBC.

During his first appearance on court on Tuesday, he was ordered to stay out of all branches of  Wendy's and avoid contact or possession of any animal other than his mother's dog.

He is also supposed to undergo a mental evaluation and avoid weapons possession. His bond, which was set for $6000, will be rescinded if he fails a random drug and alcohol test.

James does not have a criminal history before this, and he will remain jailed until Monday.
