San Diego to Enjoy Prime Now Restaurant Delivery Service of Amazon

E-commerce giant Amazon's free restaurant delivery service, Prime Now, was launched in San Diego on Tuesday. Through this service, they will be delivering meals from 90 different local restaurants.

This service promises to deliver food within an hour of order. The Prime Now service was started primarily in Seattle and has already expanded to Texas, Baltimore, Austin, Los Angeles and Portland. This is the seventh place of the service that was started six months ago.

The new service in San Diego can be accessed through the Prime Now App for only specific localities of San Diego. It helps the users to order from more than 90 restaurants including Carnitas' Snack Shack, Dumpling Inn, Native Foods, Tandoori Hut and Urban India.

One key point of the service is that there are no extra fees associated with the delivery, in any form. Users can get the meal at the same rate as that of the dine-in restaurants, according to Seattle Times.

It may include a surcharge of $7.99 but it offers the restaurant meals in no extra-fee. Considering a driving cost for dine-in, it is certainly profitable.

The average delivery time so far in the existing service areas is 39 minutes. So Amazon assures the same quality of service in San Diego also.

With free service and promised one-hour delivery, the E-commerce giant aims to take down the other food delivering app of the area including GrubHub, Postmasters and DoorDash.

The prime members can also make use of the one-hour and two-hour window delivery options of alcohol, groceries and local fare from retailers. Thus, the app lures the customers to spend more time on Amazon's e-commerce website.

Intelligent sources close to the company say that members spend 83 percent more money in purchasing through the e-commerce sites than the non-members. Therefore, it is like a mutual benefit.

The customer friendly development of the business is the positive point of the e-commerce king.  It is also making mass recruitments for various posts for an unknown location. It may be in the process of an opening in yet another location. Hope it will be out soon!
