Watch Out For These Rising New Fast-food Items For 2021

Determining the best or worst food choices nowadays doesn't just refer to taste or flavor. Over the years, many have shifted their mindset regarding their eating habits and tend to be more careful and cautious of their choices. This is not just for home-cooked meals, but also food consumed outside the homes.

For this reason, many fast-food establishments also came up with food items that tend to be on the healthier side.

Although the shift to a more nutritious food menu has been on-going, the pandemic brought about a significant impact, which urged fast-foods to create and add more of these healthy food choices to their menu.

In some cases where a fast-food may not be able to come up with a new food item, it is also more than acceptable to bring an old food item back, like the Loaded Nacho Taco. This menu item was first launched by Taco Bell in 2019 and is now making its way back to their menu.

This food item comes wrapped in a flour tortilla filled with nachos and contains seasoned beef, nacho cheese, lettuce, Cheddar cheese, and mini southwest-seasoned chips.

According to Registered Dietician Krista Jensema, the Loaded Nacho Taco offers fiber from the lettuce, a large amount of protein. It also has minimal sugar, making it healthier than other food choices.

5. Kale and Portobello Sous Vide Egg Bites by Starbucks

Breakfast is a vital part of our day, and Starbucks seems to take that to heart too well as they introduced the Kale and Portobello Sous Vide Egg Bites. With this item on the menu, you have an option for a healthy and full breakfast as you start your day.

This food item features chopped kale and portobello mushrooms folded into cage-free eggs with Monterey Jack cheese. This is cooked using the French "sous vide" method resulting in a velvety texture.
