Top foods to avoid to be healthy, are you eating these foods? Most Americans actually believe  they are healthy, more than half, going by the Cigna Healthcare survey. Yet the CDC profers statistics that more than two thirds of Americans are obese. Such shocking statistics are not hard to believe, given that all we crave are fatty, spicy, fried and crunchy foods. Rarely do we crave a fruit or vegetable. When was the last time you craved some high fiber good for your digestion pawpaw? If you are one of these people, avoid these foods for better health.

1.       Potato chips

A single ounce of chips contains a whoping 152 calories and 10 grams of fat. Those are 3 grams of saturated fat! Suppose you have three ounces a week. Well, that adds up to 23,400 calories or simply put 7 pounds on your waistline!

2.       Doughnuts

Let's check this one by one. White flour, add vegetable shortening, then white sugar and finally deep fry. You see where this is going.

A single doughnut goes between 200- 300 calories and 12-28 grams of fat, including saturated fats, cholestrol and trans fat.

3.       Imitation Cheese in cans

Two tablespoons of this  packs a 276 calories and 21 grams of fat punch. 13 grams of which are saturated fats, you can almost hear your heart protesting!

4.       Fried chicken

A fried chicken breast has 400 calories and 22 grams of fat. The fried bowls have got to go!

5.       White bread

The soft bread contains few nutrients and vitamins and contains a shocking 65 calories a slice. Eat four slices and you'll have ingested the equivalent of a 20 ounce soda in terms of calorie count. You'll need appproximately a 5 mile walk to burn off those calories. To make things worse, white bread only leaves you hungrier after a short while!
