Bill De Blasio funerals -New York Police Department came out in rage after Mayor Bill de Blasio appeared in a press conference right after the Grand Jury's decision not to indict police officer involved in Eric Garner's death telling that people must respect the judicial process, but also warned his son to be careful with an encounter with the NYPD.
Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (PBA) lead by President Patrick Lynch urged members to sign a petition to ban de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to attend their funeral in the event they die on the line of duty. The waiver with heading, "Don't Insult My Sacrifice" posted in the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association website asks its members to sign refusal of attendance of Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito in the funeral of the fallen officers.
The Bill De Blasio funerals waiver also states police officers are just doing it after repeated rejection of de Blasio and Mark-Viverito failed to show support for the police community.

In an interview at ABC News with host George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning, de Blasio aired his side about his son and the NYPD.
"What parents have done for decades who have children of color, especially young men of color, is train them to be very careful when they have an encounter with a police officer. It's different for a white child. That's just the reality of this country. With Dante very early on we said, 'Look, if a police officer stops you, do everything he tells you to do. Don't move suddenly, don't reach for your cell phone.' Because we knew, sadly, there was a greater chance it might be misinterpreted if he's a young man of color."

According to WNYC, a previous analysis of court records show that black defendants are 85.4 percent more likely to be charged with resisting arrest than white defendants in misdemeanor drug possession cases., 64.9 percent of black defendants are more likely to be charged with resisting arrest than white in disorderly conduct cases and 109.4 percent of blacks are more likely to be charged with resisting arrest than white in petty theft cases.
