Everything will be popping up green as the "Best of the West Food Fest," kindly dubbed the Stockton Asparagus Festival, draws guests to this Central California city and its festivities set to take place April 27-29, 2012.
From "Spear-It" Lane and Asparagus Alley to Asparazone rides and lively entertainment, there's always something for everyone at this annual culinary fest which has been ranked by food critics as one of the best food festivals in the West. Thousands of pounds of locally grown asparagus from California's rich Central Valley will be featured in many forms including delicious deep fried asparagus, Asparagus Tri-Tip Sandwiches, Asparagus Burritos and the festival's always popular pasta dishes. These tantalizing entrées coupled with plenty of flowing drinks and other popular festival foods add to the excitement of an extraordinary three-day event loaded with entertainment and family fun.
Promising to be bigger and better than ever, activities can easily be accessed from downtown Stockton hotels, and include "Chef of the Fest" competition and cooking demonstrations; Delta Cruises; rides and attractions for kids of all ages in Asparazone; musical entertainment, including an appearance by American Idol finalist Bucky Covington; Saturday's "Great Spear-It Run," and a deluge of daily amusements. Sky Doggs U.S.A. and Tyson the Skatingboarding Bulldog, Velocity Circus and Sea Lion Encounter will present headlining daily performances for the delight of festival goers.
