18 Firefighter Dies: Brave 18-Year-Old Firefighter Risks Life To Help, Dies 6 Days After

Jeff Buck, 18, firefighter dies six days after succumbing to life-threatening injuries he sustained while on duty after being shut in on a blazing porch roof in a Pennsylvania home.  Buck died while at the UPMC Altoona on Monday.

Being a firefighter, Buck had dared to risk his life to save lives and properties to a burning home. However, Jeff Buck, 18, firefighter dies after he was on his recovery in the hospital. He was declared making progress, but his condition deteriorated on weekend, WPXI reports.

Jeff Buck and two other firefighters were performing their duties to shut off fire at a central Pennsylvania home on March 3 when the porch roof collapsed.

Buck and the other two were trapped inside the falling debris. However, Buck suffered the most and died due to critical wounds. The other firefighters were out-of-danger and are still recuperating in their homes for minor injuries, Pennlive reports.

Jeff Buck, 18, firefighter dies, was a senior student at the Clearfield Area High School and is a member of the Lawrence Township Fire Company and the Clearfield Boro Fire Department. There has been no report what really caused the death of the 18-year-old firefighter.

While the cause of the fire is not yet confirmed, the couple who owned the home in Clearfield, near State College, Pennsylvania was safe, and had only sustained minor wounds. The fire started out in their living room on Tuesday around 9 a.m.

Her parents stated, "Jeffrey's job on earth is now done and my boy has now joined the angels up above. He will be sadly missed for he is a part of me. In the 18 years that he lived he touched our lives and he had a passion for helping others."

" I would now like to ask that you all remember that he died doing what he loved and please share a memory with us so that the pain will be out weighed by the memories of time that we shared with him."

He is survived by his parents, companion Katelyn Mitchell and their expectant child and his family.

Jeff Buck, 18, firefighter dies but his memory will always be remembered by tons of friends, colleagues and family whom he shared his life with. Funeral service will be on March 13 at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School, 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
