Free Ice Cream Cone Day, Dairy Queen on Monday, March 16 for the company's celebration of its 75th year anniversary.  Free cone day entitles everyone to get their free 5-ounce DQ soft-serve vanilla cone on all participating stores.

According to International Business Times, although the promotion is made specifically for DQ anniversary, executive vice president of marketing for Dairy Queen, Barry Westrum, has brought the good news that it could even extend its Free Ice Cream Cone Day, Dairy Queen promotion beyond the day.

"We will surprise and delight our fans year-round with food and treat innovations that they have come to expect from us," Westrum said in a press release. "We're extending the celebration beyond Free Cone Day because it's about more than just one day."

This is certainly good news for all the Dairy Queen fans! Customers getting their free cones at DQ can use hashtag #ConeWithMe to be included in the company's official Twitter page.  The free cone at DQ made instant trending on Twitter beginning Monday.  

Free Ice Cream Cone Day, Dairy Queen is a way for the company to thank their millions of patrons nationwide.  

As part of their promise, DQ is requesting to those going to get their free cones to donate some amount for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that collects funds to support children confined in 170 hospitals all across Canada and US, ABC 7 reports.

The company has helped the network of hospital for the past 30 years raising more than $100 million for the cause. This time, let it be meaningful by celebrating Free Ice Cream Cone Day, Dairy Queen Anniversary by sharing your blessings.

Dairy Queen was founded on June 22, 1940, at 501 N. Chicago St. in Joliet by Sherb Noble, and is now America's largest ice-cream chain. It has established 5,900 locations over49 states and a dozen other countries.

Today the company's headquarter is stationed in Edina, Minnesota and is owned by Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. The soft serve ice creams were made in 1938 for the company by Noble's good friend, John Fremont "Grandpa" McCullough and his son Bradley.
