Gwyneth Paltrow Food Stamps: ‘Iron Man’ Star Living Off Food Stamps For One Week – But Her Grocery List Is TOTALLY Ridiculous [PHOTO]

The Oscar-winning star has been at the center of celebrity gossip for a whole year, ever since she and Coldplay band leader Chris Martin announced their "conscious uncoupling" break-up after a decade of marriage, but now it's something else altogether putting the "Shakespeare in Love" actress in the spotlight: Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamps.

Over the past couple of years, the actress who plays Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has also turned into a cooking guru, even saving neighbor Meryl Streep's Thanksgiving dinner last year (by lending her a stove when Streep's refused to work) and having an endless passive-aggressive fight with Martha Stewart - however, Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamps project now sees her put her money where her mouth is.

According to The Independent, Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamps project was announced last week, not long after the actress' lifestyle magazine, Goop (which focuses on organic eating) received some heavy criticism after suggesting that women should steam-clean their vaginas.

Certainly, the new Gwyneth Paltrow food stamps project takes a completely different direction: in it, the actress has vowed to go through the "Food Bank Challenge," an attempt to wake conscience about those in need by living off $29 food stamps per week, the amount that those who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) get for a week in New York City.

However, as Business Insider reports, Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamps project, while earnest at heart, only showed people around the world how completely off the everyday life the actress is: Paltrow, famous for her advocacy of beans and vegetables, bought a dozen eggs, seven limes, lettuce, tortillas, a chilli, spring coriander, corn and the like - basically, an attempt to continue following her organic diet.

However, in all, eating from this list would mean she consumed about 1,000 calories per day, about half of what's recommended by nutrition experts all over the world.

As Sydney Morning Herald reports, when the actress shared Gwyneth Paltrow's food stamps groceries on Twitter, users of the social network roasted her for taking a serious subject as a joke and for her unhealthy diet choices.
