Sawyer Sweeten Actor: ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Son Commits Suicide At 19

It's a sad day for the cast and crew of the beloved sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," after it came out that Sawyer Sweeten actor, one of the twins who played Ray's sons on the show, took his own life earlier this week at only 19 years of age.

Three siblings played Ray Barone's children in "Everybody Loves Raymond," as twin child stars Sawyer Sweeten actor and Sullivan respectively played Geoffrey and Michael, while their real-life sibling Madylin played older sister Ally.

Following the passing of "Young Frankenstein" actor and co-star of the show Peter Boyle in 2006, the death of Sawyer Sweeten actor marks the second of the main cast members of the popular series to pass away, although it's largely more tragic to see a young man that's not even 20 take his own life.

Fox News reports that it was Sawyer Sweeten actor's sister, Madilyn, who confirmed the news last Thursday, saying that her younger brother had taken his own life earlier this week, not long before what would have been his 20th birthday.

"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life," read the statement about Sawyer Sweeten actor's death, according to ABC News. "He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."

Ever since the announcement of Sawyer's death, his co-stars in the show have taken to social media to send their love for the family - including his on-screen parents, Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton, who have both spoken about the terrible loss.

"Sawyer was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon," said Heaton to E! Online. "The loss the Sweeten family is experiencing is unimaginable. Tonight hug your children a little tighter and please keep Sawyer and his family in your thoughts and prayers."

Romano, on his part, said "his heart breaks" over Sawyer Sweeten actor's death; meanwhile, Doris Roberts, said on her Facebook page that Sawyer "will be dearly missed."
