Rene Angelil Health: Celine Dion Husband ‘Doing His Best’ As Diva Prepares For Vegas Caesars Palace Return

Celine Dion is as famous for her voice as she is for her stage presence in concerts and particularly in her grand Colosseum Caesar's Palace residence in Las Vegas; after taking a long break to take care of her husband Rene Angelil's health after he was diagnosed with cancer, the diva's set for a late summer return to Las Vegas.

With top artists such as Britney Spears, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey taking up residence in the famous Nevada town, it seems like Sin City is one of the hotspots for entertainment right now - and it's getting one of its major divas back now that Rene Angelil's death has improved.

According to Hollywood Life, Dion was at the Billboard Music Awards last weekend as she's slowly coming back from a yearlong absence from the industry, and the Canadian singer was obviously asked about Rene Angelil's health.

"So I'm coming back on August 27th. It's the date that we sealed," Dion explained to the outlet, speaking about her husband Rene Angelil's death. "And if there's going to be only one person in the theater, it's going to be him, so don't look for him that night. He will be there. It's going to be for him. I want to make sure that he sees me strong again and ready for that road. So I'm excited. I'm excited very much!"

People Magazine reports that the "My Heart Will Go On" singer also expressed she hadn't gone back to the stage because of Rene Angelil's death, stating her family needed her at the time and they still do - but she also wants to stay strong for her husband.

According to Access Hollywood, the singer also said that Angelil was "doing his best" while working hard to gain back Rene Angelil's health, even attending business meetings regarding Celine's comeback!
