Jackie Chan Kicks Butt in 'Police Story: Lockdown' Trailer [VIDEO]

Jackie Chan is known for his funny martial arts stunts, which usually border on slapstick. These acrobatic stunts can effectively keep audiences in awe and in side-splitting laughter at the same time.

However, the trailer for his new Police Story movie is obviously more serious than the usual Chan film. The clip's synopsis is as follows:

"Police Captain Zhong Wen (Chan) knows all about sacrifice. He's always been too busy chasing bad guys to be a father to his daughter Miao (Jing Tian). Tonight, he's seeing her for the first time in years - and meeting her fiance, club owner Wu Jiang (Liu Ye). But Wu knows Zhong. And his plans for the evening include taking Miao, Zhong, and the entire club hostage. Zhong knows about sacrifice. What will he give up to save his daughter?"

'Police Story: Lockdown' is directed by Sheng Ding. It is the sixth installment of the 'Police Story' film series that is a major hit in Asia. Chan told Empire that the movie is slightly different from the first five films. The martial artist plays a mainland cop instead of the usual Hong Kong policeman in the Police Story series.

In addition to being an actor, director and producer, Chan is also a vocalist who has trained for operas. He performed the Cantonese song 'Story of a Hero,' which is the theme song of the first Police Story movie.

Chan also sang 'I'll Make a Man Out Of You' for the Chinese release of Disney's 'Mulan.' He provided both speaking and singing voice for the character Shang.

Chan's most recent project is the Renny Harlin action comedy 'Skiptrace,' which is also stars Fan Bingbing and Johnny Knoxville.

'Police Story: Lockdown' was originally released in China and across Asia in 2013. The US release will be on June 5, 2015.
