‘Emergency’! [LISTEN] To Icona Pop’s New Single

Icona Pop is more known for their 2012 hit single, "I Love It." However, the duo is about to release another one, and it might be another chart topper.

Entitled "Emergency," the single boasts of a hybrid between the electronic and pop genres, which is something to be expected from Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo.

The tune has somewhat of a "cartoonish feel," as Pop Crush puts it. Adorably enough, the art that comes with the track has the same vibe. It might be worth noting that Icona Pop intended the track to be that way.

What's great about the track is that it's sure to keep people bumping and bopping to the upbeat song. The jazz trumpets add some oomph to the dance beat. However, it's not a tune that is ideal for some fist-pumping action at the club.

The track also features the vocals of Swedish pop artist Erik Hassle. The lyrics warn women to keep an eye on their guys whenever the duo is in attendance.

The song goes, "I put a little twist in my hips, kiss on my lips, ice on my wrist 'cause I'm hot and I'm dancing, caught that romancing. Can't sell the plants and girls hide your mean 'cause I'm hot and I'm dancing."

Icona Pop first announced the news of their new single on their Twitter account on May 21. Hjelt and Jawo even accompanied the tweet with a video.

Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo seem to be very excited about the new single. They even posted an adorable GIF of themselves dancing to the tune.

Pitchfork reports that the single will be released on Tuesday on iTunes. The duo is set to announce upcoming tour dates sometime in the near future.

Icona Pop's last album was "This Is... Icona Pop" in 2013.
