The revolution has begun.
The long wait is almost over for 'Hunger Games' fans as the highly anticipated sequel 'Mockingjay Part II' closes in on its premiere date. Before the release of the film, there have been several teasers emerging on the internet. Actress Jennifer Lawrence has even posted a picture on her Facebook page urging her followers to "#Unite."
The Hunger Games Youtube channel has released the first trailer for the movie to keep fans on their toes. The accompanying synopsis reads as follows:
"With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss [Lawrence] confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends - including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin], and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] - Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her."
The trailer offers a glimpse at Finnick's wedding as well as Katniss rallying the citizens of Panem to "turn your weapons to the capital." There are several sweeping shots as war tears through the nation, and in the end, Finnick quips, "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games."
There is a brief shot of Gwendoline Christie, who is best known for playing Brienne of Tarth in 'Game of Thrones.' The actress will appear as Commander Lyme in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II.'
Christie will be reunited with 'Game of Thrones' costar Natalie Dormer, who plays Cressida in 'Hunger Games.' In the HBO show, Dormer appears as Margaery Tyrell, the former queen of Brienne's self-proclaimed king Renly Baratheon.
The final installment of the 'Hunger Games' film series also stars Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Julianne Moore, Stanley Tucci, Jeffrey Wright and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II' will be released on November 20, 2015.
