The season finale of 'Game of Thrones' has just wrapped and now the world knows what Kit Harington meant when he said he wasn't sure if Jon Snow would be in Season Six.
Amidst all the flurry of shocking scenes including the death of Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) going blind and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) taking a long walk of shame, one character was painfully given a heartbreaking final scene.
The episode ends in Castle Black, where Jon Snow's steward Olly (Brenock O'Connor) and several men of the Night's Watch stab and leave the Lord Commander for dead.
Netizens were understandably mortified.

Several fans are quick to point out that Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) is in Castle Black at the time of the stabbing and can easily resurrect Jon with the help of the Lord of the Light.

The theory is that Melisandre thinks Jon is "the Prince That Was Promised," the Messiah known as Azor Ahai and will be more than happy to bring him back.
There are also theories that Jon would probably warg into Ghost and survive in the direwolf's body before being resurrected.
Jon Snow fans better not get their hopes up just yet. In an interview with EW, Harington has confirmed that it's lights out for the character.
"I've been told I'm dead," the actor stated. "I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season. So that's all I can tell you, really."
'Mother's Mercy' is now being considered the bloodiest episode in the show's history, with several main characters meeting their end. Right after Selyse (Tara Fitzgerald) dies, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) encounters Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and meets her sword.
Myranda (Charlotte Hope) attempts to kill Sansa (Sophie Turner) and is thrown off the ledge by Theon/Reek (Alfie Allen). Arya finally kills Meryn Trant (Ian Beattie) while Myrcella gets poisoned by Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma).
'Game of Thrones' will return to HBO in 2016.
