Sean 'Diddy' Combs Won't Face Felony Charges After UCLA Fight

Sean 'Diddy' Combs will not be facing felony charges after he allegedly attacked and threatened a UCLA football coach on June 22, Monday, according to reports.

"We've referred the case to the City Attorney's Office for misdemeanor filing consideration," the District Attorney said on Tuesday, June 30.

Combs' defense lawyer  Mark Geragos later released a statement after the charges have been dismissed.

"We are thankful that the district attorney rejected felony charges in this matter," he said. "This case never should have been part of the criminal justice system to begin with."

The 45-year old hip-hop mogul was arrested last week after being charged with assault, using a deadly weapon, battery and throwing criminal threats to the complainant.

A report says that the dispute occurred when the rapper's son, Justin Combs, was sent home from the practice by one of the school's coaches, Sal Alosi. An insider close to the rapper said that Combs went to the campus just to talk with the coach, however Alosi declined Comb's request.

The situation later fired up and Combs apparently called the police, but Alosi allegedly grabbed his phone. In an attempt to defend himself, Combs fought back using his steel-cast kettlebell.

Shelley Smith of ESPN also said that Justin Combs was "berated" for being lazy and effortless during the practice.

The UCLA football coach, Alosi, or any representative from his side, did not immediately respond for a comment.

A representative for Combs, on the other hand, said that the "various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate''. The rep went on to say that "any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son."

"We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed," the rep added.

Apart from being wholly engaged in the spotlight, the rapper also owns several ventures, including his 'Sean John' clothing line that was established in 1998 and the 'I Am King' men's perfume which was added in 2008.
