20-Foot Tiger Shark Caught In Australia Following Attack [PHOTOS]

An incredible 20-foot shark was caught off the coast of a famous surfing spot in Australia.

Reports have had conflicting details regarding the location of where and when the tiger shark was actually caught. According to IFL Science, Geoff Brooks posted the photo on Facebook.

Brooks told The Daily Mail, "As far as I'm aware; it was a kill order on a shark here on the far north coast that was identified as being responsible for a local attack." He also confirmed that the four-meter shark is indeed real.

Meanwhile, the Northern Star reports that the shark in question was "caught [14 miles] off Tweed Heads last month."

A licensed fisherman named Matthew (no last name given) claims that he was the one who caught the cold-blooded animal. "I was the one that took that photo and I was the one that caught that fish," Matthew said.

The photos were posted on the social media platform to confirm the species of the shark, as Matthew was unsure. "I just had to confirm with a bloke that it was a Tiger and not a Great White and I used those photos to show him," explained Matthew.

Matthew further added, "I was fighting the [six-foot] Hammerhead and he [the Tiger Shark] came up and swallowed it. You can't turn around and go 'no, don't touch,' to something like that."

The fisherman responsible for catching the Tiger Shark has seen several sharks in his line of work and has noted that the 20-foot shark was just a small one.

"I've dived with sharks bigger than that, it's only a little one. I've seen Tiger Sharks 24-feet long off Tweed," said Matthew.

The Tiger Shark ended up being sent to the fish market. However, Matthew kept the jaws as a souvenir from the unlikely occurrence.
