Josh Gad to Play Roger Ebert in the Film - Russ & Roger

Josh Gad is the American actor who is best known for voicing Olaf in the film Frozen.

He just closed the deal to play the role of the  film critic Roger Ebert in the movie Russ & Roger.

Gad's involvement with the film was already rumored since winter, even before they named a director for the project. It just took awhile for the negotiations to get done, even if he plays the frontrunner.

The American actor and comedian Will Ferrell, got on board to portray the role of the sexploitation king Russ Meyer , who has been known in helming a series of successful low-budget sexploitation films.

STX Entertainment of Bob Simonds will finance and distribute the pic.

The plot of the movie is described as a "debaucherous comedy" focusing on two outsiders (Russ Meyer & Roger Ebert),who dared to defy the Hollywood establishment, and worked to have the first X-rated film be released by a major movie studio.The film was entitled, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. It ended up becoming a 1970 classic .

The film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls was directed by Russ Meyer and the story by Roger Ebert. Both did the screenplay of the movie.

The Sobini Films of Mark Amin and David Permut's, Permut Presentations along with Richard Waltzer will produce the movie Russ & Roger. The film's script was written by Christopher Cluess, with Winterbottom,and Neil Gibbons. Rob Gibbons will do the polishing.

The production of the movie Russ & Roger is set to kick off later this year.

The most recent project Josh Gad worked on was, The Wedding Ringer of Screen Gems and Pixels of Sony. Josh Gad will also do a voice over for a character in Sony Animation's Angry Birds movie and play LeFou in Disney's Beauty and the Beast - that is slated to hit theaters in March 2017.
