Lena Dunham Thinks Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean' Promotes Rape

Lena Dunham has expressed her dislike over the new song and music video of What Do You Mean by Justine Bieber. The actress believes that the comeback single of the young singer provides mixed messages about consent which can be a bad influence to the society. She also thinks that it promotes rape.

The music video which was unveiled on August 30 features Bieber and the Playboy cover girl Xenia Deli having an intimate scene.

The film producer and director seemed to not be pleased with the lyrics of the song. On her Twitter account, Dunham expressed her opinion about the message of the song.

Though she did not clearly mentioned the name of the singer, she made a reference to some of the lyrics of the song. Dunham was referring to the lines, "What do you mean?/ When you nod your head yes/ But you wanna say no/ What do you mean?"

Contrary to the interpretation of the Girls series creator, the 22-year-old singer offered a different explanation of the lyrics of the tracks in an 'On Air' interview with Ryan Seacrest. The singer clarified that the meaning of the song is related to the behavior of many girls. "Well, girls are often just flip-floppy. They say something and they mean something else. So ... what do you mean? I don't really know, that's why I'm asking," Justin explained.

Dunham then posted a photo on Instagram clarifying her controversial tweet. She posted a side-by-side photo of her and Bieber having identical haircuts.
