$1.5M LaFerrari Owned by Qatari Royal Drag Races with Porsche GT3 [VIDEO]

Supercars on the road are fascinating to ogle at-but not when they are endangering the lives of innocent bystanders and disrupting the neighborhood. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani is believed to be the owner of the yellow $1.5million LaFerrari that drag raced with a white Porsche GT3 through Beverly Hills, Hollywood Reported said.

However, it has already since been confirmed that the sheikh, a member of Qatar's ruling family, has left the country. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani is Qatar's former interior minister and is known to be a racing enthusiast, according to Autoblog.

The Ferrari had Qatari plates on them while the white Porsche did not even have any identification on it besides racing decals. Neither of the drivers of the cars gave much care to the traffic laws as can be seen in the video. They zoomed past stoplights and almost hit another car, all the while creating noise that sent car alarms off wherever they went.

Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed reports that the driver claimed diplomatic immunity to authorities who approached him. The Ferrari, however, is not registered to someone with diplomatic immunity. "It is against a federal law for someone to claim diplomatic immunity when they don't have it," said police chief Dominick Rivetti.

It is further reported that the sheikh brought along his cars with him as he left the country. Additionally, as BHPD was not present during the drag race, they are waiting for witnesses with proof of the driver's identity and not merely footage of the cars, of which there are numerous, BBC reported.

For Sgt. Subin of the BHPD, "Diplomatic immunity does not trump public safety" He adds, "The Beverly Hills Police Department takes this very seriously. If someone has diplomatic immunity and drives recklessly or endangers the public, we will take action with the State Department's guidance."
