"The Mentalist' stars Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman, who play special agents Grace van Pelt and Wayne Ribsby, will exit the CBS drama at the end of this upcoming sixth season, TV Line is reporting.
"I can neither confirm or deny, but this is the most dramatic and game-changing season and anything can happen," "Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller said in a statement.
Righetti and Yeoman are series originals since the show began. According to Yahoo TV, when Season 6 of "The Mentalist" premieres, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon are on the trail of Red John, but disagree on how to handle the manhunt.
The identity of Red John will be revealed "by the end of this calendar year," CBS said.
"The Mentalist" returns on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m.
"The Mentalist" isn't the only CBS series going through a cast shakeup this season.
"NCIS" star Cote de Pablo announced she will be leaving the series after wrapping up agent Ziva's David story line in the beginning of season 11. De Pablo has been a regular on "NCIS" since season three.
"I've had eight great years with NCIS and Ziva David," De Pablo said in a statement to TV Line. "I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva's story."
In a statement to TV Line, CBS said, "We respect Cote's decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David. Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva's story."
Also leaving their show are NBC's "Parks and Recreation" stars Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones.
"It felt like a natural time to move into the next phrase," executive producer Mike Schur said in a statement obtained by Buzzfeed. "We absolutely love both Rashida and Rob, and will be sad to see them go."
The pair will depart about halfway through the season, in the 13th episode.
