Tokyo Dubbed as the World's Greatest Food City

Traveling is not complete if one doesn't experience the food in a particular place they are traveling at. There are lots of countries and cities in the world who can brag about their amazing cuisines, but based on CNN's recent travel and food report, Tokyo was named the greatest food city in the world.

The excellence that this city has when it comes to culinary arts has been proven to be a cut above the rest. Japan has about 226-Michelin-starred restaurants compared to Paris who only has 94. For those who are not aware, Paris is Tokyo's rival in this area of expertise and they are obviously winning by more than a hundred when it comes to their good food reputation.

Tokyo is not just about ramen, sushi and the usual Japanese food that everybody knows. There is more to it than those, that Saveur magazine made it the "world's best food city." This is quite a milestone for Tokyo and it is definitely going to help build more good relationships with their visitors and investors .

Most of the time, one can expect that the best food in a city can be found in five star hotels. But not in Tokyo, one can experience the best food even just in their alleys where a lot of "yokocho" noodle shops can be found.

According to renowned chef Thierry Marais, "You have so many restaurants here -- many of them tiny, with just eight or 10 seats -- specializing in everything from sushi to teppan, tempura or kaiseki."

He continued saying, "The people working there often own the places and have very few employers -- because they know exactly what they're doing.

"There's a consistency and the quality is there day in, day out because they are there day in and day out."

The nest time you think of a destination for a food adventure, it is indeed a must to visit Tokyo.
