Beer Made from Frozen Pizza and Cash Is a Real Thing

Craft beers have exploded to include the most ridiculous ingredients. However, it would seem that all the current offerings will pale in comparison to what is to be Norway's strongest beer ever: the Big Ass Money Stout. Vice noted that to make it truly Norwegian, business partners and long-time friends Mike Murphy of Norway's Lervig Aktiebryggeri and Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø of Denmark's Evil Twin and Tørst breweries decided to put in what Norwegians are known for: money and frozen pizza.

This reasoning is over the top, yes, but they also want the world to know that beer does not have to be so serious all the time. They contend that with Norway's 5 million population, the 40 million frozen pizzas consumed per year-the Grandiosa brand in particular-would be a perfect ingredient. But why stop there? Since Norway is one of the world's richest countries, a hundred dollars and Norwegian krone was included too.

Norway's strongest and arguably weirdest stout is going to have a heavy chocolate and coffee flavor. It is also going to certainly be a thick brew. This blend is also sure to negate any flavor from the frozen pizza and cash and it might not even be palatable to many. The fermenting process to reach 20% alcohol is a difficult one and it is even encouraged to let the beer ferment a couple of years to balance the flavors out, Grub Street reported.

The brewers are expected to import the beer in two months' time, mainly in the US. One reason for this is that they fear that the addition of money into the picture might piss off the Norwegians. Jarnit-Bjergsø said, "I know it's crazy and stupid. Some people are going to hate it, but there will also be people who realize that we're not always trying to take ourselves too seriously."
