Bring Your Sweaters Back to its Original Size, Harvard Startup Discover "Unshrinkit"

Getting upset when taking your clothes out of the washer or dryer only to notice they have become smaller? A foundation company called Unshrinkit desires to mend that problem. Like the name suggests, the company claims that it can bring your sweaters back from their withdrawn state and reestablish their standard size.

The concept emerged from a presentation to the harsh New England winters.

Unshrinkit co-founder and California citizen Desiree Stolar learned it the hard way when she transferred to Boston to be present at Harvard Business School.

Stolar told CBS News that she had a week of sweaters that she had placed into the washer, and then continued to shrink.

Stolar claimed that she expected that it would be an effortless fix, but was startled to realize there was no immediate available quick fix to "unshrink" the withdrawn sweaters.

Stolar also voiced out her disappointment while sitting near Harvard classmate Nate Barbera, who had accomplished product evolution for Johnson & Johnson previously, and the two joined forces. They started combining and pairing various chemicals until they discovered something that worked to loosen up wool fibers.

But how does the product function? According to the startup's website, first, you have to load the sink with a gallon of warm water before streaming the whole bottle of Unshrinkit into the sink. The clothing is then drowned in the solution for 30 minutes. The clothing should be washed off under cold water before being lightly strained back to the chosen size. Then, just compress out the remaining liquid before drying the clothes on a towel.

Unshrinkit only functions on wool presently, but they're already attempting to come up with more options.

Stolar said that they're already considering at things like denim and cotton because they are aware that people tend to shrink those things, too.

Now, Stolar and Barbera are preparing to launch their business to the public in a big way: Unshrinkit will be highlighted on Friday in an episode of "Shark Tank"
