Bride Bakes Life-Sized Cake Versions Of Her Groom And Herself

Among all the centrepieces, wedding cakes would usually stand out above the rest. But for British baker Lara Mason, hers has got to be something else.

After four years, Mason has made a name for herself in creating life-sized cakes modelling famous people. Among her remarkable creations were cake versions of Harry Styles, a Tyrion Lannister and Prince George --- which had won her an award.

Even Jennifer Lawrence was impressed with her Katniss Everdeen take and sang her praises.

"Seriously, if the girl who made that is listening: You're incredibly talented," The Hunger Games actress said.

BuzzFeed reports Mason used her incredible talent for personal purposes by creating a life-sized cake version of herself and her groom Nick Mason at their November 14 wedding.

According to the bride, settling for an ordinary wedding cake was not an option at all.

"I am getting a name for my self as the lady who makes the life size people cakes, I couldn't have a 3-tier ivory cake with roses," Lara told BuzzFeed Life.

It was indeed not anything like other wedding cakes because she added some thoughtful touches as well. Her husband's cake version donned a construction hat that says "Marriage survival kit" with Coors Light cans and straw attached, while her cake version was holding a glass of margarita.

The vanilla cake covered in fondant reportedly took 20 hours over the course of three days to finish. Lara said she would usually spend 150 hours for a cake, but other wedding responsibilities had to eat her time too.

But Nelson said guests loved it anyway. Lara even caught one of her husband's friends "biting my nose at one point."

On why she found herself baking "people cakes", Lara said she just wanted to be unique. "It was something that just wasn't being done, and I thought I would just try it."
