LDR also known as Long Distance Relationship is becoming common in this generation. Many couples now share the same feeling and start a relationship despite the time difference and the distance which is normally thousands of miles apart. Many have tried but few survived this kind of arrangement.
An article in Stuff featured an LDR couple who managed to find a way to bring them closer together though they are 14 hours and thousands of miles apart.
Meet 23 year-old South Korean Shin Danbi and her fiancé 28 year-old Li Seok. They are already engaged to be married however, because of their individual career, they are now apart from each other. Danbi is currently residing in New York City because of her exhibits and Seok lives in Seoul.
In the midst of their busy careers and everything that's going on with their lives, they tried to think of the way to stay close to each other. They then thought of making themselves as inspiration. Danbi and Seok started a photo collage project. Because of this idea, Half & Half is born. This project is solely dedicated to document their lives apart. As a couple like any other, they want to experience and share many things together. Like going on a date in the park, eating in restaurants and more. Since they can't be with each other physically, this is the closest they can enjoy things together as a couple.
Danbi expressed that both Seok and her are very sad to be apart. She added that she wanted to have romantic and normal moments like any ordinary couple. She often imagines walking side by side and watching taxis pass by while holding each other hands or simple just eating ice cream or cereal in the morning as well.
The Half & Half project makes them find similar places and when they do, they take a picture of it simultaneously though there is a 14 hour difference between them. After that, the photos they took individually are then put together in a collage and thereby creating a moment together while living apart. This is their way to bond and do things together while being apart.
Finally, Danbi said that a lot of people felt the same sympathy for their Long distance relationship. She got many messages of encouragement and a lot of news articles have been written about them all over the world.
