A Christmas Story: Woman From New York Becomes Santa's Helper

NEW YORK - A woman just took the holiday's spirit of giving to a whole new level. Carol Suchman, a philanthropist from Manhattan, looks like she has been helping Santa as she buys an entire toy store and donated everything inside to those in need.

As per KTLA, this year was no exemption as this has been a yearly activity done by Suchman. She donates to needy children in New York City for the past five years already. And this year, she was inspired to do more as she was walking by a toy store with a "for rent" sign in the window along the West Village. That was when she had the idea to buy the entire store and donate the toys inside to charity.

According to Suchman, the moment she saw the store, it was when she realized that for this year, she can do it on an even grander scale.

Together with the boxes of school supplies, Suchman and the volunteers from the New York City's Department of Homeless Service (DHS), helped each other to pack up thousands of toys and stuffed animals and donated it all to the said organization. The donations will then be distributed throughout the homeless shelters over the holiday season.

And because of Suchman's generosity, there will be a lot of happy kids and thousands of sheltered children will have a smile on their faces as they open at least one present this year. Suchman believes that her job is considered as done when it brings some happiness to these people and when they get to realize that there are still some who looks out for their welfare.

Moreover, Suchman adds that especially now that the holiday is just around the corner, everyone can really use a gift around the season.
