Next Dota 2 Tournament Will Be Held In Shanghai

As the first ever Dota 2 Major tournament successfully ended, it's time to look back at the exciting happenings of the event, including the intense competition during the grand finals.

It can be remembered that Valve hosted 'The International Five' last year which was one of the biggest e-sport tournaments ever held in the world of gaming. Aside from its extremely large prize pool, the Ti series became so successful because of its massive fans and outstanding arena.

This year, Valve together with its partners hosted the first ever Dota 2 Major tournament. The said event was composed of a series of four tournaments which lasted for almost a week. Together with the high caliber Dota 2 players, the first Major event held at Frankfurt was indeed a spectacular series to be watched.

The Frankfurt major was composed of 16 teams coming from the different parts of the world. Eight of the 16 teams were invited while the remaining eight were the qualifiers. The tournament was divided into four group brackets which made the event more exciting.

The elimination rounds were quite remarkable. All of the teams exhibited professional gaming performances which resulted in highlights and comebacks. During the playoffs, the tournament got more intense as the best of the teams battled each other in order to climb up to the championship.

In the final round, OG and team Secret clashed for the championship. The championship round was a bloody battle in which team OG was awarded as the champion at the end. Indeed, it was the versatility of Miracle and the objective gaming of the OG that prevailed.

At a total prize pool of $3,000,000, the Frankfurt Major is one of the biggest gaming tournament next to the The International. With the success of this event, the second Major tournament is already at hand as the next Dota 2 Major will be held in Shanghai this coming March of 2016.
