'Blindspot' Finale Recap: Series Creator Martin Gero Explains Jane Doe's Video And That Weller Kiss [SPOILERS]

The mid-season finale of 'Blindspot' has definitely answered a lot of questions, only to pose several more!

In the tenth episode of the NBC TV series, Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) finally finds David's killer. It looks like everything is working out so well, so much so that Jane decides to leave her safe house to sneak into Weller's place where she kisses him. But just as she is leaving, she is abducted and tortured by Carter, who manages to bring back some memories about Operation Orion.

The episode is filled with shockers, as Oscar kills Carter and presents Jane with a video of herself confirming that "the mission is going as planned" and that past Jane had decided to wipe her own memory.

Naturally, fans were at the edge of their seat over the fall finale, but luckily, 'Blindspot' creator Martin Gero spoke with TVLine to clarify a few important bits. For starters, why end with the Jane Doe video revelation?

"That was the plan from the second I pitched it, before the pilot was even written," Gero said. "That was one of the twists where I said, 'This is our fall finale.' It seemed like the right time to do it. It wasn't something I wanted to hold until the end of the first season, and you'll see why in the back half of the season."

Martin Gero also explained the significance of the Jane/Weller kiss.

"They've been circling around each other since the pilot. They almost kissed in Episode Five! For me, what's so heartbreaking about this episode is she finally feels safe," he said. "Maybe for the first time since she came out of that bag, she felt like she was on stable ground. The second Oscar shows up, the floor falls out from under her feet. Those things make it emotionally interesting."

'Blindspot' will return to NBC in February 2016.
