Gigi Hadid, the 20 year old model has indeed been dating Ex- One Direction Member Zayn Malik, 22 years old and the couple's connection has ruffled the feathers of some of Gigi's friends.
According to a source in a report from E! News: ''Her friends do not quite understand what the attraction is. He is not her usual type, he doesn't share her sense of humour or ease with people [and] he's a little more self-aware and awkward.''
Among those who have dated the heiress Gigi Hadid are Joe Jonas and Cody Simpson. It was just recently that Zayn Malik also ditched his fiancée Perrie Edwards.
A number of photos have recently swamped the internet of Gigi and Zayn holding hands in public on a date in Los Angeles. Gigi has made it point to defend her new found lover on her Twitter account.
The post, which was also deleted afterwards had Gigi saying: 'Sometimes life happens. For whatever reason in whatever timing. And sometimes it doesn't make sense till it does. That's it."
''If there was a real way to sit with each one of you and tell you my side of things, I would. But there's not, so I won't. I've found the only way to happiness is by living as though the microscope isn't there.''
One follower responded to her tweet calling their connection "fake" and Gigi took it upon herself to act on it and respond.
The user wrote: ''You want the public to consume and believe your fake [relationship] - but don't want to be judged for it? Lol doesn't work that way (sic).''
Gigi retorted back saying: ''Who are you to say what is fake? Your comment proves my point exactly. If you don't know you don't know.''
The post of Gigi was then deleted and afterwards she shared a picture of a beach with the caption "chill" on it.
