Hillary Clinton Gave Honors To Lady Gaga and Female Pop Stars in Billboard Essay

The Secretary of State in the Obama administration and a Presidential hopeful - Hillary Clinton, has composed a personal essay for Billboard regarding the responsibility of women in the music industry.

Hillary Clinton started her essay with a quote from the multiple gold album American country music singer-songwriter - Loretta Lynn, where she illustrates how tough it is for female artists working in an industry in which "you either have to be first, the best or to be different."

Clinton's essay expressed warm admiration to female artists like the American singer, songwriter, and actress behind the hit song 'Poker Face' - Lady Gaga, and other Billboard Women in Music honorees for their great effort and their human creative skill and imagination.

Hillary Clinton wrote, "For years, I've been listening to some of these female artists, while others I recently found out. Now, I'm a fan of them all. The talent of these female artists is dazzling, so is their work ethic. None of these women had success handed to her. They knew their stories and their particular attitude of considering a matter was worth sharing. And these women were absolutely right about that."

But it's not just about what these female artists bring to the music industry, but also how these women can influence others around them. The American politician Hillary Clinton briefly talks about how many female artists have gone on to help other individuals through charity work and the American politician notes the female artist's effect on the women who look up to them.

Hillary Clinton also wrote, "My hope is that, women and girls all over the world will hear these artists' music, acquire knowledge from their stories and feel a greater sense of possibility of these female artists' own lives. Maybe other women and girls will recognize themselves in these artists. Maybe they'll stand a little straighter or speak a little louder, for the reason that, it's what Lady Gaga and Missy, Brittany, Tori, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Kelsea, Lana, Ally, Normani, Lauren, Camilla, Dinah and Loretta would do."
