Quentin Tarantino Hints At 'Kill Bill Vol.3' Possibility

Quentin Tarantino's latest film, The Hateful Eight, doesn't hit theatres for a few more weeks, but we may already know what he has planned after.

During an hour-long interview with What the Flick, the acclaimed director talked about the possibility of creating a sequel to Kill Bill, the blood soaked revenge duology he made in 2003.

"There definitely is a possibility. Stop short of seeing a probability," Said Tarantino during the interview. (Via Entertainment Weekly)

The two-time Academy Award winner said that he felt the time was right to revisit the film's universe given the length of time that has passed since the events of Vol. 2.

"I put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot, and so I wanted her to have this much time for peace... "The whole idea [behind waiting so long between films] was everybody would be as old as they are."

Tarantino previously brought up the passage of time as a key factor in creating a sequel during San Diego Comic Con in July.

"Never say never to Kill Bill 3," said the Tarantino during the panel for The Hateful Eight (Via IGN).  "Uma [Thurman] would really like to do it. We talk about it every once in a while. Vernita's daughter just needs to get a little older."

The Vernita he refers to is the character of Vernita Green, the deadly assassin played by Vivica A. Fox. In the original films, Green is killed by Uma Thurman's Kiddo as her daughter looks on.

Tarantino's statement hints at this moment being the catalyst for volume 3.

Whether this proves to be true remains to be seen.

For now, all eyes will be on The Hateful Eight, which hits select theatres on Christmas Day and goes wide in early January.
