New Spider-Man Details On The Webslinger's Place In MCU, Amazing Costume Design And How Tom Holland Got The Part

There is no doubt that Spider-Man's appearance is the one of the most highly-anticipated cameos in 'Captain America: Civil War,' second only to Stan Lee's regular visits to movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One reason behind that is the fans' curiousity over the webslinger's role in MCU. Luckily, Tom Holland has the answer.

"I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he's the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is," Holland told Super Hero Hype. "I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask."

Tom Holland's statement would be quite true in 'Captain America: Civil War,' where the Avengers are forced to cooperate with the government because of the Sokovia Accords. This probably means that nobody would know about Peter Parker's abilities until later in the film.

But what will happen to Spider-Man's costume in the film? In the comic book series 'Civil War,' Tony Stark actually presents Peter Parker with a special gold-and-red costume. Co-director Anthony Russo addressed the question in the safest possible way.

"The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for and a little twist," he confirmed. "So yeah, that's what I can tell."

It would be quite exciting to see what's in store for Spider-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War.' Whatever the turnout, Anthony Russo guarantees that Peter Parker's appearance will be a carefully planned cameo.

"Well, we researched a lot and do a lot of experiments for all the characters. We did the same with Spider-Man," Russo said. "We knew it had to be someone young, it was very important because we wanted to give this essence to the character, it is something unique in the Marvel Universe. Tom Holland is an amazing Spider-Man, people will love it. It was a very experimental process, placing him with other actors, especially with Downey Jr., we were learning as we did and are very happy with the result. But we are still working on some things, like the uniform. He's not ready because so much will be produced with special effects."

This probably explains why Spider-Man did not appear in the trailer for 'Captain America: Civil War.'
