Trader Joe’s Recalls Triple Ginger Brew Due to Faulty Bottle

Another food safety concern has popped up in the food industry. This time Trader Joe's announced a recall for its Triple Ginger Brew because of bottle hazards.

A voluntary recall has been announced recently by the Monrovia, California company base. The issue was brought up after reports from consumers have ignited food safety concerns. Customers have experienced that unopened bottles of the Trader Joe's product have been reported to burst or shatter.

The company stands by that the product itself - the Triple Ginger Brew liquid beverage - does not have any issues and is not a health risk if consumed.

Though that is the case, the company still issued the voluntary recall and advised retailers, suppliers and distributors to remove the product from the store's shelves and to dispose and destroy of it immediately.

The major concern is focused on the unopened bottles with the potential to explode, possibly due to the intense pressure when sealing the beverage in the company's manufacturing or bottling sites.

The product has been distributed nationwide to retail stores. The product code SKU 51857 has been sent to retailers and suppliers as part of the recall notification. The purchase dates for the code include bottles sold between November 9 and December 14.

The product is called "Trader Joe's Triple Ginger Brew" and is sold in a green bottle with a removable white cap, with the trademark label on the face of the bottle. The glass bottle contains 25.4 FL OZ or 750 ml of the liquid beverage.

Consumers who have purchased the bottle from retail and grocery stores are encouraged to dispose of the item carefully and handle with care when doing so.

Trader Joe's is an American privately held chain of specialty grocery stores and have been known for their great prices and great quality.

No injuries or illnesses reported from the faulty bottle issue has been raised as of this date, as reports indicated.
