As the demand for plant-based options increase, many food establishments and supermarkets are starting to offer them. Although there may be plenty of options to choose from, there are people who would like to cook them on their own. The good thing is that there are plant-based burger recipes you can try.

Halloumi Fig Burgers

This dish is the epitome of a plant-based cheeseburger. According to Spruce Eats, Halloumi is a type of cheese perfect for grilling since it holds its shape despite high temperatures. This can also give you a meaty texture for the ultimate plant-based cheeseburger. On the other hand, figs provide a little hint of sweetness to the dish that makes it more flavorful and tasty.

Start by cooking the shallots over medium heat in a saucepan until it softens. Add the fig preserves, balsamic vinegar, thyme, cayenne, salt, and let it simmer, then set it aside. Mix the Italian seasoning, lemon zest, and olive oil and brush it on the sliced Halloumi. Grill the Haloumi for 2 to 3 minutes per side, then serve it on buns topped with fig sauce, mint, Peppadews, cucumbers, and arugula.

Pesto Lentil Burgers

If you are quite taken aback by the overpowering taste of lentils, worry not! The trick is infusing this burger dish with goat cheese. In addition, it gives an excellent balance of crunch and savory by adding walnuts and grilled zucchinis. The fantastic thing about it is that it carries an incredible amount of fiber and can keep those cravings at bay for an extended period of time.

For this recipe, you need to boil the lentils for 25 minutes and roughly break them down using a food processor. You can add the flaxseeds, goat cheese, walnuts, mustard, cumin, salt, garlic, balsamic vinegar, and pepper until thoroughly combined. Slice the zucchini thinly and oil them before grilling for about 4 minutes.

Form your patties and refrigerate them for 30 minutes, after which you need to grill them for 4 minutes per side. Serve this with pesto-spread buns, topped with grilled zucchinis.

Falafel Burgers with Tahini-Dill Sauce

As the GrapeVine describes it, Falafel is a Mediterranean dish made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both, which is often deep-fried. It is the best snack you can reach to satisfy those afternoon or late-night cravings. It fits in perfectly with Tahini sauce to balance its greasiness. Plus, using pita bread instead of burger buns just makes this all the more appetizing.

Using a food processor, roughly chop the pistachios and parsley. Mix and blend chickpeas, chickpea flour, sun-dried tomatoes, cumin, salt, onions, garlic, lemon juice, and pepper. Form your patties and refrigerate them for 30 minutes, after which you need to grill them for 3 minutes per side.

For the sauce, whisk together tahini, dill, lemon zest, garlic, paprika, and salt. Serve this burger dish with tomatoes, lettuce, and tahini-dill sauce on top.
