One Collab Too Far: Fendi X Chupa Chups

Chupa Chups and Fendi have launched the oddest collab we have seen so far in 2024. The rainbow sucker and the fashion icon teamed up to bring us a leather lollipop holder because...well, actually, we have no clue why, but here's what we know.

Fendi x Chupa Chups Lollipops

According to WWD, luxury fashion house Fendi recently made a leather Chupa Chups lollipop holder. Some products come out, and we're like, "Wow, I never knew I needed this." Then there are products like the Sham Wow or the Shake Weight that make us say, "Huh?" This is that.

Why Do I Need This?

Why do you need this? We have no clue. I mean, after you take the wrapper off and suck on it, can you put it back? Wouldn't it then taste like rawhide and lint afterward? Won't it get all gross, yeasty, and germy? This gizmo is like a pill box that holds one aspirin or a wallet with only enough room for a single bill. We asked ourselves what archeologists would think if they found this 1000 years from now. All we could surmise is they would assume it was a mallet for a very small timpani drum.

But We Love Chupa Chups!

Yes, we do. When we first discovered them, we instantly realized they were light years from the crappy dollar-store sugar balls on a stick our dentists used to give us (we never understood that one). They came in brilliant flavors we never had before, like Cola, Choco Vanilla, and Creamy Strawberry. Fun Facts: In 1995, Chupa Chups became the first candy sent to the Mir space station, and then in 1997, Chupa Chups launched Spice Girls lollipops. Plus, did we mention they are hands down the best lolly-taste experience on the planet? We knew they were always a little shi-shi-Euro-stylee, but a leather lollipop holder? We're still scratching our heads.

Kudos to Chupa Chups for getting Fendi to spend God knows how much money to license their name for this thing-a-ma-doodle. Their bags can sell as high as $34K so it's not like they don't have cash to burn. Now every time we call a lollipop a sucker, we're going to think of the people that bought this knick-knack.
