Peter Jackson Is Directing 'Dr. Who'

The genius behind the movie franchise 'The Lord of the Rings' is about to helm the hit TV series Dr. Who and the way he made his announcement was even more brilliant. Usually, directors would just go to their Twitter or Instagram, but not Jackson. He did it in such a way that people who are proud geeks would love it.

Vanity Fair has featured the director's witty way of promoting his project for Dr. Who and it involved his very own daughter along with Peter Capaldi and Dalek. Jackson is a fan of the show and it has always been a dream of his to work on it.

The executive producer of the show Steven Moffatt already had a glimpse of this idea of Jackson directing it even back then and based on their conversation he said, "I've spoken to [Peter Jackson] face to face, and he would like to do one. He accepts that there's no money and that there's no time, and it would have to be when he's available... I think it will probably happen at some point." And now it is about to happen.

This is not the first time that a famous celebrity who is also a fan of the show would work on it. Neil Gaiman who is a best selling author penned a couple of episodes of Dr. Who during Matt Smith's days as the Doctor. Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams was also in it just this year doing four episodes.

Season 10 is going to be amazing now that Jackson is about to work his magic with the new Doctor, Peter Capaldi. He is a very busy director and working on this one now is such an honor for the production knowing that he also got The Silmarillion at the back burner.
