Since its inception in 2001, the "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" rockers from a Chicago suburb have had many hits, and the pop rock and pop punk band has gathered a great many number of fans - so, what do the critics say about the Fall Out Boy new album?
According to AV Club, the Fall Out Boy new album, "American Beauty/American Psycho," proves that the band is still made of "pop rock mad scientists," as they raved about their new work, as they state that they take a fractured approach to modern music, with songs ranging in topics as wide as "Uma Thurman" (the actual name of one of the songs) as well as "Novocaine," which has been said to have been written about the protests in Ferguson, Missouri.
In the meantime, the Los Angeles Times review of Fall Out Boys' new album states that the first half is considerably better than the second, with songs like "Irresistible" and "Centuries," which according to the newspaper show the band being almost "comically exciting," as they venture in adrenaline-filled rushes to best show their work. However, they state that the latter tracks are more generic, including "Immortals," which was recently featured in the Disney film "Big Hero 6."
Yet another review, this time from Cleveland.com, has stated that the band has found "perfect balance" with "American Beauty/American Psycho," saying that the Fall Out Boy new album was a jump from its adolescent ways, in the same style as "Save Rock and Roll" had been before it.
