Following the release of her aptly named and self-mocking HBO show, Lisa Kudrow's "The Comeback," the "Friends" actress has seen a return to show business in a spectacular way - and now, she has been officially chosen to host the upcoming Screen Writers Guild Awards, given by the society of writers in Hollywood.
A member of the Screen Writers Guild (SWG) herself after the release of Lisa Kudrow's "The Comeback," the actress who became famous playing Phoebe Buffay in the hit sitcom "Friends" has now been officially invited to host the gala of the guild for the first time in her career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lisa Kudrow's "The Comeback" made the actress (and also comedian, producer and, of course, writer) a member of the SWG back in 2005 as she began the show as a personal project, only a year after the end of the ten-year run of "Friends," where she co-starred with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.
"One of my most proud professional moments was when I qualified to join the Writers Guild," the actress, writer and producer said, according to Variety, in the press release announcing that Lisa Kudrow's "The Comeback" would now see her hosting the major award show. "Now, I'm truly honored to be asked to host the WGAW awards show this year."
As Entertainment Weekly reports, the actress has gone far above her famous role as Phoebe Buffay to showing that at heart she was always a woman of many hidden talents: back in 2006, she earned an Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for "The Comeback," and later she'd go on to gather another Emmy nod for her work in "Web Therapy," which started out online and later went into Showtime.
In any case, following Lisa Kudrow's "The Comeback," the actress has proved she is far more than what met the eye in the sitcom that made her famous.
