Prince William Helicopter Pilot: Duke Of Cambridge And Expecting Dad Licensed Helicopter Ambulance Pilot

A little-known fact in the crowds that only check out the British monarchy news to see who's hooking up with whom or who's having royal babies, is that the royalty is also expected to go through military training and provide a service to their country; now, Prince William's helicopter pilot license puts him a step closer to this direction.

A few weeks back, the biggest news to come out of the Windsor castle was that William's brother, Prince Harry, was supposedly dating feminist "Harry Potter" megastar Emma Watson; now, Prince William's helicopter pilot news puts everything in perspective once more, as the second in line to the throne aims to provide a service to the kingdom.

According to The Daily Mail, the latest Prince William helicopter pilot news comes after the royal spoke out about his plans, saying he's planning to start working as an ambulance helicopter pilot in the next summer after undergoing a series of difficult tests.

ITV reports that the Duke of Cambridge, who usually makes news for his personal life (like the fact that his wife, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, is currently expecting the couple's second child), has been studying for the Prince William's helicopter pilot tests since last September, and he's set to start in the summer after 14 different tests.

Us Weekly reports that the Prince William helicopter pilot news came in the form of an official announcement in Kensington Palace this Thursday, as it was announced he had passed his flying test in addition to 14 written ones, where he had to prove his knowledge in everything from air law to navigation and meteorology.

After this, Prince Charles and Princess Diana's oldest son is set to start his new job as an air ambulance pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance, as an employee of Bond Air Services.

Even though the royal has already passed all tests, the Prince William helicopter pilot tenure will now feature a training period before he can officially start his new job, as he has stated that he'd like to work as close to full time as possible.
