Liza Minnelli 2015: ‘Cabaret’ Star And Judy Garland Daughter Falls Off Wagon, Back In Rehab

In the past, studies have shown that there's a good chance that addictive personalities, or at least tendencies towards this kind of behavior, may be hereditary, and one of the cited example has been Judy Garland's daughter, as Liza Minnelli's 2015 sees the Oscar-winning actress returning to rehab.

Garland battled addiction for a good portion of her life, and she ultimately died of an overdose in 1969, an event that has been obviously called one of the most terrible moments in her children's lives - now, Liza Minnelli's 2015 sees her return to old habits, though trying to fight them back.

As TMZ reports, Liza Minnelli's 2015 rehab is one of many for the actress, who has been outspoken about her alcoholism for the past few decades, including the times where she's fallen off the wagon and needed further help, as it's hardly the first time the "New York, New York" singer has entered rehab.

As BBC News reports, Liza Minnelli's 2015 has been a tough year, as the actress and singer had also been battling with health issues since last year, as she went through back surgery last September to relieve an injury that had prevented her from going through her singing performances throughout a better part of 2014.

In the past, Minnelli has been candid about her struggles with her addictions to painkillers and alcohol, having visited different facilities for this in the past few decades.

As USA Today reports, Liza Minnelli's 2015 rehab facility has not been disclosed, though her representatives have spoken about the fact that she checked into some place in Malibu in the last few days, and her spokesman Scott Gorestein added last Wednesday that she's making "excellent progress" while treating for the condition, as she's done in the past.

"Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so," said Gorestein, speaking about Liza Minnelli's 2015 issues. "She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility."
