'Batkid Begins' Trailer Will Restore Your Faith in Humanity [VIDEO]

The story of young cancer patient Miles Scott has touched the hearts of netizens worldwide. When the Make-A-Wish foundation asked what he wanted, the little boy said he dreamed of being 'Batkid.' The simple wish led to one of the most touching projects the organization has ever staged.

Scott's story was made into a documentary called 'Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard around the World.' Warner Bros. has just released a trailer that needs to be viewed with a box of tissues in hand.

The trailer offers a glimpse at the events that occurred on November 15, 2013, which was officially called 'Batkid Day.' After Scott's wish went viral around the world, members of the Make-A-Wish foundation decided to transform San Francisco into Gotham City. The five-year-old has dressed as Batkid and is accompanied by Batman as he saves a damsel in distress and captures supervillains.

In the end, it is evident that Batkid didn't just change San Francisco. He has also succeeded in changing the world into a better place.

When he was only 18 months old, Scott was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. He had to endure chemotherapy treatments for most of his young life, during which he became fascinated with superheroes. His obvious favorite was none other than Batman, who is also a regular human being underneath the mask.

Scott is currently in remission.

Right before Batkid Day, the hashtag #Batkid was posted by billions of people all over the world. One of his most famous fans is President Barack Obama, who lauded the young boy for saving Gotham City.

'Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard around the World' is directed by Dana Nachman and Lisa Meak. Actress Julia Robert produced and starred in the film as well. The documentary premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and will be released in theaters on June 26, 2015.
