David Foster Wallace Movie: Jason Segel Plays Pulitzer Prize Winner In AMAZING ‘End Of The Tour’ Trailer! [VIDEO]

The all-star cast of the David Foster Wallace movie, "End of the Tour," set for a mid-summer release, is now showing off their amazing talents in the real-life story of the tragic New Yorker author, Pulitzer Prize winner and creative writing professor.

After a long career in comedy, "How I Met Your Mother" star Jason Segel might seem like an odd choice to play the title character in the David Foster Wallace movie, but the first look the trailer provides looks incredibly impressing, as he's joined by co-star Jesse Eisenberg, hardly a newbie at biopics after famously earning an Oscar nod for playing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network."

According to Deadline, the David Foster Wallace movie had its original release earlier this year at the famous Sundance Film Festival, the most notorious independent-driven of its kind in the world.

Besides Segel and Eisenberg, the David Foster Wallace movie also stars "My Girl" and "Veep" actress Anna Chlumsky, beloved character actress Joan Cusack and "Office Space" star Ron Livingston, in a film based on David Lipsky's book "Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace," where he tells the story of a five-day trip with the two authors.

"The two men bob and weave around each other, sharing laughs and also possibly revealing hidden frailties - but it's never clear how truthful they are being with each other," says the David Foster Wallace movie synopsis, according to Salon. "Ironically, the interview was never published, and five days of audio tapes were packed away in Lipsky's closet. The two men did not meet again."

Images of Segel as the "Infinite Jest" author have been making their rounds all over the web for a while, but this is the first official trailer for the film.

Following its festival premiere, the David Foster Wallace movie has an impressive 94 percent "Fresh" rating in Rotten Tomatoes - and it'll have its limited release on July 31.
