DxO One: iPhone Attachment Allows Device To Produce DSLR Quality Shots

Software company DxO Labs is in the final stages of releasing an advanced, pocket-sized camera that not only produces photos similar to a DSLR's output, but can be used with an iPhone.

Although users all over the globe are satisfied with Apple's iPhone specs, they are also disappointed with its 8 MP camera. Camera pros and prosumers have been frustrated with the phone's limitations: the megapixel count is too low and other controls, such as setting aperture and shutter speed are still non-existent.

DxO hopes to resolve this significant problem by partnering its new camera called the DxO One. The device promises to transform your phone into a high-quality shooter that produces HD and high-quality images.

The new technology, which can be attached to your iPhone, captures much better photos than your phone which can then be saved instantly for easy sharing and archiving. The camera is less than 3 inches tall and weighs about 4 ounces, which can be hidden even in the breast pocket of a shirt.

It will be available in the market beginning this fall for $599.

This is the first time DxO Labs has released camera, even though they have been making valuable photography tools for years. Their image-processing is utilized by millions of cameras by other manufacturers and their software, which is used for fixing and enhancing images, is highly recommended.

DxO One, which had been two years in the making, is built around the same 1-inch type sensor which Sony uses in the RX100 Mark III. It also has an F1.8 lens, with manual exposure controls, and a top shutter speed of 1/8000 of a second.

DxO specifically designed the camera to be compatible with the Apple iOS ecosystem. Sliding down the camera lens cover turns on the device, while a gentle push down releases the lighting port plug.

The advantage of using lighting port plug than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is that the former has 10x the bandwidth of Wi-Fi, which means that the control access can instantaneously save your photos into the iPhone.
