Star Wars - Ewan McGregor Would Love To Return as Obi Wan Kenobi

Star Wars' Ewan McGregor -played young Obi Wan Kenobi, said he'd love to return to the Star Wars franchise. He would like to work on the story picking up from Episode Three. McGregor is also excited like everyone else to see the new Star Wars VII film.

McGregor explained that it was Star Wars that made him want to be an actor. The actor is thankful when he first saw his uncle, Denis Lawson playing Wedge for Star Wars in the original installment. "I remember going to see him in Star Wars in my shorts and red socks when my mum picked us up from school," he recalled. "I was six and it blew my brains out and that was it. I remember saying of Denis when I was nine I want to be an actor."

McGregor said it is not fanatical of him and that he is just pleased that he's a part of the legacy of the franchise. And when McGregor saw the trailer of The Force Awakens, he said that production absolutely nailed it.

Ewan McGregor joked in a conversation with Edith Bowman during the Edinburgh film Fest at the Lyceum Theatre - "I'm not sure about the hilt of the lightsaber. If you fight with a lightsaber properly, you don't need one. "I'd be happy to do the story from episodes three where I finish up and Alec Guinness starts."

Besides returning in Star Wars, McGregor also talked about coming back to the potential sequel of 1996's Trainspotting - even when the actor already met with director Danny Boyle and still the sequel has still no script. Ewan stated: "it would make sense for the sequel to be made in 2016, the 20th anniversary of the original."
