Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Sequel 'Creed’s' First Trailer

The seventh Rocky Balboa film "Creed", has hit the internet with its first trailer as Sylvester Stallone passed the gloves to Michael B. Jordan.

Michael B. Jordan star of "Fantastic Four," will play the role of Apollo Creed's son, Rocky Balboa's arch nemesis which was played by Carl Weathers in the first four "Rocky" films.

The trailer featured Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone as the iconic boxer, who then became the mentor for Jordan's character, Adonis, just like Burgess Meredith's Mickey served as a mentor to Rocky Balboa. The Creed film is set in Philadelphia.

The impressive Rocky-inspired story Creed, would carry on the Rocky tradition in a respectful and captivating way. That would set up Warner Bros. in another potential series of Rocky-like films with Jordan in the lead.

A brief summary from Warner Bros. states,  "Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born," reads a synopsis from WB. "Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.

"Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo-the fierce rival who became his closest friend."

The trailer's one steamy love scene features Bianca, Adonis's romantic interest played by Tessa Thompson of Dear White People. Mary Anne Creed, Adonis' mom will be played by Phylicia Rashad ,the mom's role was originaly played by actress Lavelle Roby in 1976's Rocky then passed on to Sylvia Meals in subsequent Rocky films.

Creed is written and directed by Ryan Coogler teamed with Jordan for Fruitale Station and will hit theaters November 25.
