Now Teen Choice revealed the second wave, other categories include TV, film, music and sport.1D now have nine nominations, including best song by a group and male music group.
The boy band is up against 5 Seconds of Summer, Maroon 5, Echosmith, Fifth Harmony and Little Mix for the group category.
One Direction are holding their finger cross for the best summer tour, group, while their 'No Control' music is nominated for the party song, and their 'Night Changes' is for the love song and they are up for international artist and selfie taker.
Ed Sheeran is hoping to win the 'best summer male' award against Jason Derulo, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, The Weekend and Andy Grammer.
For the 'female summer,' Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Rihanna will battle to take home the award.
The other nominees are Ellie Goulding for the song from a movie or TV show category, Jessie J for the song from a movie or TV show, Ed Sheeran for male, summer tour, love song, break- up song categories, Neon Jungle for the Next Big Thing category, Spring King for the Next Big Thing and George Ezra for the rock song category.
Other British interest lies with Jason Statham, Nicholas Hoult, Cara Delevingne, Kate Winslet, Emilia Clarke, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kunal Nayyar and Taron Egerton for the TV and Film categories.
Teens can post their votes to Facebook and Twitter or they can vote on line at the teenchoice website, voting ends on July 24 at 12PM PST.
Teens Choice Awards will be held on August 16.
