'Hannibal' Episode Seven Recap: What Happened to Mason Verger in 'Digestivo'?

The latest 'Hannibal' episode 'Digestivo' is the first episode to air in the show's new timeslot. NBC has previously announced that the series will be moved to Saturday, where it will continue to air until the season finale.

However, the weekend move has not affected 'Hannibal,' as the new episode unleashed more shocking scenes that included a face transplant, an unfortunate pig and a band of moray eels looking for a nice place to hide.

'Digestivo' begins where the previous episode 'Dolce' ended, as the Florentine police interrupt the meeting between Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne).

Will and Hannibal are whisked off to Muskrat Farm, where Mason Verger (Michael Pitt) awaits. Chiyoh (Tao Okamoto) arrives just in time to save Crawford, who manages to tell her where Will and Hannibal have been taken.

Things get uncomfortable at Muskrat Farm, as Hannibal and Will are somehow reunited with Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) and Margot (Katharine Isabelle). Will is most uncomfortable when he finds out he will be part of a face transplant for Verger. Alana is a close second for finding out her child's surrogate mother is actually one of the pigs in the farm.

The two women ultimately cause Verger's downfall, as Alana frees Hannibal to save Will while Margot forces her brother under the aquarium so the moray eels can swim down his throat to choke him.

Chiyoh tracks down Hannibal and Will and brings them to Will's home in Virginia. It is there that Hannibal admits to her that he ate Mischa but had no part in her murder. Will decides to part ways with Hannibal, who is taken into custody.

With Verger out of the way, there is finally room for another villain to come into the show.

The next episode of 'Hannibal' is titled 'The Great Red Dragon' and will introduce Richard Armitage as Francis Dolarhyde. The episode will air on NBC on July 25.
