Benicio Del Toro ‘Star Wars’: The Force Is Strong With The Collector – Or Benedict Cumberbatch

The Puerto Rican actor and producer who won an Oscar for his role in "Traffic" has had one of the most incredibly versatile careers in show business, having been a part of franchises like James Bond, "Sin City" and most recently the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and it seems Disney may want him back for another big universe, as a Benicio del Toro' "Star Wars" role might be in the future.

New reports claim that after playing The Collector in both "Thor: The Dark World" and "Guardians of the Galaxy," it'll be his turn now in a galaxy far, far away as it seems Benicio del Toro' "Star Wars" role could see him taking on a villain in the George Lucas-created world!

According to exclusive scoop from The Wrap, Benicio Del Toro's "Star Wars" appearance could see the 48 year-old actor take on the villain role in "Star Wars: Episode VIII," as it appears he's already been offered the role for the sequel for this year's widely expected "The Force Awakens."

The Guardian reports that there's still very little information on how Episode 8 will be going down, so there's even less known about the possible Benicio Del Toro "Star Wars" role other that he'd be sharing the screen with Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Stormtrooper Finn and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron - and how the film's scheduled for a May 2017 release, as tradition marks, around two years after the release of the previous movie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Joaquin Phoenix may also be in talks for the supposed Benicio Del Toro "Star Wars" role, but others being considered may include recent Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, who seemingly gets all the roles these days - in the past, Del Toro was considered for the role of Khan in "Star Trek: Into Darkness" and Phoenix was about to be the lead in "Doctor Strange," but both ended up in Cumberbatch's hands.

Let's just wait and see whether Benicio Del Toro's "Star Wars" appearance becomes a reality!
