Instagram Adds New Quick Edit Feature For Android

Instagram has revealed a new feature on its Android app that makes editing and sharing photos faster. The latest Quick Edit/ Filter screen can now be used in the version 7.3.0.

The new feature has the different tools in one screen which include the Edit, Tag, User Tag, Location and Caption button. Users can now use the various sample filters by simply swiping the screen instead of tapping the different offerings. The previous version of the Edit screen is more tedious compared to the newer one.

The new edit screen page shows almost all the locations that users can choose from. The Droid-Life believes that the new update has been made via server-side update. Users who are familiar with the app will easily notice the improvements made on it.

A video has been uploaded to demonstrate how the new Quick Edit/ Filter screen works.

Instagram seems to be busy improving the social networking service. Last week, the company has added a new search bar on the website improving the functionality of the web version, which bridges the gap between the web and the mobile version.

Users were able to search profiles, hashtags, images even based on location.

Earlier, Instagram has also started enabling users to view high resolution images up to 1080x1080 pixels. Before the update, the photo-sharing platform only supports a resolution of 640x640 pixels.

Instagram now has around 300 million active users every month. The company believes that with the recent improvements, the number will continue to increase until it becomes a competitor of the social media site Twitter. More than 70 million photos are being shared on the site every day.

The platform which was initially released in 2010 grew at a fast rate. Instagram was acquired by Facebook in the year 2012 for $1 billion.
